1st Edition of Nagar Marathon in 2015:
Nagar Marathon 2015 was the first ever marathon conducted in the region with most of the population completely ignorant about the concept of a marathon run.
It was a massive struggle to make the general public identify with a marathon, get the civic authorities to support and convince the outstation runners to participate.
With all the efforts put together by the different stakeholders, the outcome was an outstanding event with an unheard of 2000+ participants.
The winner’s timings were very impressive. Chaitya Thokre won the men’s half marathon race finishing in 1 hour 15 minutes. Archana Kohakade blazed through the women’s half marathon in 1 hour 27 minutes.
